Why I Built Southern Slumber

Why I Built Southern Slumber

Posted by Brooke Powell on

Hi friend,

When I became a mom, I started to see kids’ clothing differently. I wanted soft, breathable, adorable pajamas for Elise... but I also wanted something that felt like us. Southern charm, family roots, playful prints — all in a brand that supported small business values.

But I couldn’t find that anywhere. So I created it.

Southern Slumber is about more than pajamas — it’s about preserving a piece of Southern childhood. Crawfish boils, front porch naps, little overalls, sweet tea memories... all woven into every print and pattern.

Now with two little ones — Elise and baby Otto — I’m more inspired than ever. I get to design clothes that celebrate what it means to grow up Southern, while supporting other families who value comfort, quality, and a little hometown magic.

Thanks for letting us be a part of your family’s story, too.

With love,
Brooke
